ESCAPE FROM ISIS [x] According to international human rights groups, ISIS kidnapped more than 3,000 Yezidi women since August 2014. At auctions, they are naked presented and sold to the highest bidder, sometimes in exchange for a pack of cigarettes. A small group of volunteers are risking their own life to free Yezidi women and girls. Obscured filmed images show the so-called Islamic state from the inside. The women tell what happened during their captivity: lashing, stoning and sexual slavery.
I hope God blesses these women and find the strenght to heal and become great women. My heart breaks. So unbelievable. I couldn’t even imagine.

El escritor napolitano Erri De Luca (1950) ha sido absuelto tras llamar al sabotaje de las obras del tren de alta velocidad entre Turín y Lyon. La Fiscalía había pedido para él ocho meses de prisión, pero el Tribunal de Turín ha considerado este lunes que “no existe delito” en las declaraciones que hizo en septiembre de 2013 al diario digital HuffingtonPost y a la agencia italiana de noticias Ansa. Pedía evitar por la fuerza que se perforaran unas montañas del valle de Susa [noroeste de Italia] “repletas de amianto” para construir un largo túnel.
“El TAV ha de ser saboteado. Para eso precisamente sirven las cizallas: son muy útiles para cortar las verjas. Las mesas de negociación del Gobierno han fracasado. El sabotaje es la única alternativa”, son las palabras que pronunció. La construcción fue asaltada varias veces por activistas que querían preservar la zona y la empresa francesa LTF, constructora de la línea de alta velocidad, se querelló contra De Luca y le hizo responsable de los ataques.
A la lectura de la absolución siguieron aplausos y gritos de alegría. De Luca había entrado al Tribunal convencido de que “la línea de alta velocidad se sabotea en legítima defensa del suelo, el aire y el agua”, afirmó a su llegada.

this past week, the israeli occupation army had demolished 63 homes and structures in the west bank which had left 132 Palestinians homeless including 82 children. this is part of a larger plan by the israeli authorities to displace 7,000 Palestinians living in area C (which makes up 60% of the west bank) to make way for new [internationally unlawful] israeli settlements. it should also be noted that this is the highest number of people rendered homeless from demolitions in nearly three years. Iran is in a constant tug of war between Western and Central Asia.

South Asia =/= Southeast Asia
Southeast Asia =/= East Asia

It’s actually pretty offensive when you dump half these countries into East Asia or just plain India, so please, think before you address the cultures and the countries. Is the culture Indian, or is it South Asian? Is the style Chinese, or is it East Asian?
It takes like two minutes to look these up. It’s not that hard.
(Except Western Asia. That’s a tricky definition because it includes most of the South Caucasus, which very few people take into account when considering Asia, and some of the countries there are difficult to place geographically. Most, but not all, of Western Asia falls into the definition of the Middle East, but the Middle East is not only comprised of Western Asian countries.)
